Wishing on a star, where did it come from?
People do it all the time. Looking at the night sky, looking for the meteor. Why We, the shooting stars? Where does this term come from? What is the history of which, with other phrases that you want? Wishing well start an eyelash. If you do these things, your wish will not actually true?
With so much on the stars and wishes, has not been easy for the search, but I came across this answer to the question itself: an old superstition. Our ancestors (in almost all pre-science) believe that the mysterious, distant stars in a way to control our destiny. Children (the epicenter pre-scientific belief in the world today) will make a vow to see the first star in the afternoon. (Usually, a planet, but why spoil the fun?) The link is stretched a little, and is a good place to look for the origins of other phrases. I hope that helps!
